Explore every corner of the site, and beyond, to keep both participants and parents at home up to date with everything that’s going on- providing a lasting memory of the event in the form of a daily newspaper. One of these roles is for a layout assistant, helping make the paper look fantastic!

Media Reception Team Member

Our media teams tell stories, and you’ll be the signpost – working out who your visitors need to see and talk to, as well as supporting team leaders with communication and resources.

Radio Team Member

Working with our external team Scout Radio, you’ll join a team engaging the event through our very own on site radio station. Within the team, there is a variety of roles including covering the action on air, planning and preparation, news, and youth engagement.

Photography Team Member

Capture the spirit and adventure of Poacher in images throughout the week. Your images will be used to share the magic of the event both during the week and for years to come.

Video Team Member

As more of our life goes online, capturing the event in video becomes crucial! You’ll work to record the event, seek out adventure and excitement, then edit it into engaging video clips for use on social media and screens throughout the event.

Social Media Team Member

Share the fun and adventure of Poacher 2021 through the social media platforms; you will get the opportunity and freedom to post about all the amazing activities that are happening on and off site!

By working closely with other media teams, you can get creative sharing to those both on camp and at home how amazing Poacher is!

Admin Team Member

Working as part of the Admin Team to ensure that all participants are supported whilst on camp.

Being part of the admin team base camp, being on hand to answer any problems, queries, helping people find their way and most importantly being the happiest person ever when welcoming all 7000 participants onto site in 2021!

Marketing Assistant

Responsibilities
• Working with the Marketing and Communications team to produce marketing content and campaigns aimed at promoting Poacher 2021 to potential participants
• Promote Poacher 2021 both to those within Scouting and Guiding and beyond
• Work closely with the media team to get visual content that can be shared on the Poacher website during the event
• Contribute to writing and designing email marketing campaigns to engage with those interested in attending Poacher 2021.
• Work closely with the Social Media Manager to ensure that web content is shared across the Poacher social media channels • Follow style guides of The Scout Association and Girlguiding
• Express the Poacher ethos and atmosphere via digital channels
• Contribute to increasing public awareness of Poacher 2021 by supporting other marketing efforts as required by Marketing and Communications Manager

• Experience of writing for web or blogs would be helpful

External Media Liaison Assistant

Responsibilities
• Working with the Marketing and Communications Manager to produce Press Releases and submission to relevant press outlets
• Source and provide quotes and images to journalists/external bodies if requested
• Work closely with the media team to get visual content that can be shared with external media to promote the event
• Develop relationships with external media providers and work with other team members to develop pre-existing relationships
• Assist with press visits to the Poacher 2021 site as required – this may include supervision, providing tours and answering questions about the jamboree
• Follow style guides of The Scout Association and Girlguiding
• Express the Poacher ethos and atmosphere via external press
• Contribute to increasing public awareness of Poacher 2021 by supporting other marketing efforts as required by Marketing and Communications Manager
