Greetings from the Camp Chiefs

I am proud to have always been involved in Guiding since I became a Brownie at the age of 7. As a Guide in South Cams I camped in fields throughout Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Essex. As a Young Leader I went on an International Camp in Holland and as a leader I attended an International Camp in Austria – both amazing experiences that lead to me becoming involved with the Poacher team when I moved to the Lincolnshire area. In recent Poachers I have been a part of the International team and have run two Sub-Camps. As a Camp Chief I am really looking forward to finding out what happens throughout the whole camp and discovering what actually happens at some of the fantastically named activities! Look out for me and say “hello!”

Having been to all Poachers since 1972 I feel that this international camp has progressed to the great camp it is today. I was privileged to be Camp Chief in 2004 and was lucky to be given the role again for2008. The theme for this Poacher is Around the World in Seven Days, and will bring great unity coming on the back of the 2007 World Scout Jamboree. The theme will also give a great scope for the Scouts and Guides to participate, especially in the dressing up for the ceremonies.
