Perri says: Hi my name is Perri and welcome to my blog...
As you can see I am a Penguin, not just any penguin I am a the chief penguin of
PIGAS - that stands for Penguins in Guides and Scouts.
As chief penguin I have been invited to be the mascot on the Pole 2 Pole sub camp. I am very excited about this and so have decided to start my journey early and swim all the way from my home in the Antarctic. I will bring you updates of my progress and places that I have visited over the coming months.....
Please keep checking back to see where I have been! and also to find out updates of the exciting plans my friends from the sub camp have made!

Perri says: Well folks the time has come for me to set
off! I have decided to zig zag my way all over the world on the way to
Poacher 2008. So my first destination is swimming straight up to the land
of Oz - yes Australia.... Below you will see that I have collected a postcard to
remind me of my stay. I must admit it was a bit hot though! I met
Pam from the sub camp while sunning myself in Oz and she had her picture taken
with me (see Pam's photo on the team section).

Perri says: Well
it was a long slog but I have finally arrived in Cuba! - I have been busy
partying for the last few days and also resting as it was a long swim through
the panama canal... I have picked up a post card along the way too.

Perri says: My
friends on the sub camp had a meeting on Sunday and have been planning lots of
exciting things for you all to do! I am really excited especially about
the sub camp HQ and our gateway, it's going to be amazing. Roy is busy
planning the Winter Olympics for you all too!

Perri says: I’ve
waddled all my way to the sunny Island of Tenerife – boy has it been hot for a
penguin! There’s plenty of swimming and lovely seafood to eat, I’ve had a whale
of a time! I’m now getting ready to swim through the Gibralter Straits on my way
to Europe.

I've been talking with my friends and they have been to measure the Perrimeter
of the sub camp and make sure we have enough room marked out for you all to come
and camp with us! They have also been busy melting icebergs to make sure
there is enough water for everyone!

Perri says: The team are getting really excited because it's nearly
Poacher and also they are all going to Sue C and Chris C's house on the 21st for
the weekend to build and paint things ready for the super polar sub camp hq!

Perri says: Well I have finally made it to Great Britain! It was a
long last slog through france but I have finally arrived and I am staying at Sue
and Chris C's house till poacher. It's perfect timing because it means I
get to be involved this weekend with all the painting and building!

Wow what a weekend! the weather was more polar than summar.... But all had a
great time and we built and painted some amazing things..... take a look in the

I've been thinking again! When you arrive at Poacher how will you find our sub
camp? Well the answer is look out for me, a big red and white south pole,
an igloo entrance to the marquee and also a fantastic gateway sign! Don't
forget all my friends who will be working hard to help you settle in quickly!

Perri says: The sub camp will be unable to answer emails recieved after 22nd.... due to being out
of the igloo/office and getting the Sub Camp HQ ready. Check your email as
Pole 2 Pole will be emailing you a couple of contact numbers in case you have
any last minute issues.

Well this is it.... my friends and I will be setting up the super coooool Sub
camp hq from Wednesday this week. We are all really excited and looking
forward to catching up with you round the old Ice hole or in the research
station see you Saturday! - I won't be blogging again but my friend Chris C will
be taking pictures and recording the Polar antics we all get up to and will have
them put on the Sub camp page after poacher!
