Welcome to the Ocean Sub-Camp!

Welcome to the Ocean Sub-Camp.  If you camped with us on the Comedy Sub-Camp at Poacher 2004, it’s great to see you again.  To new groups visiting the Ocean Sub-Camp, a very warm welcome to you.

The Ocean Sub-Camp Team are hard at work planning fun activities for the week of Poacher, and with the theme of water running through the events – be prepared to get wet!!

During the week of Poacher, campers on Ocean will be looked after by their Sub-Camp Chiefs, Bez and Mel:

Bez has been involved in Scouting since he was born and has been a Beaver, Cub, Scout and Venture.  He is currently an Assistant Cub Scout Leader and Nights Away Assessor, and has been a Group Scout Leader.  He has been organising and running Cub and Family Camps for several years, and was the director and producer of his group’s first Gang Show in November 2002 and stage manager in 2005.  Bez attended the 21st World Scout Jamboree as a member of the External Performers Team.  This will be Bez’s second Poacher as a Sub-Camp Chief, and at 26 years old, he is probably still the youngest ever Sub-Camp Chief!

Mel has been involved in Guiding since she was a Brownie and Guide.  She is currently a Ranger Leader at 9th Lincoln.  She has helped on Cub and Scout camps for many years and has been attending Poacher since 1982.
