Poacher is Lincolnshire’s very own international Scout and Guide Camp. The camp is held every four years, with the next Poacher being held in 2008 from Saturday 26th July – Saturday 2nd August.

Place
Lincolnshire County Showground, Lincoln. Located on the A15, the camp can be accessed from the M180 and A46. The camp is in easy access of Humberside airport, Hull seaport and Lincoln train station.
Who can Come
Activities are provided to all Scouts and Guides aged 10-16 years from organisations around the world. Leaders and staff also camp on site, but are only able to join in with certain activities. Please click here for more information about activities.

The cost only includes camp fees and activities. Groups and individuals should provide their own food and transport.

Taster days
Two tasters days are available at Poacher 2008. These days are designed for Beavers, Cubs, Rainbows and Brownies to enjoy a taste of the camp. The two dates are Sunday 27th July and Wednesday 30th July. Click here for more information
Insurance
Each group is responsible for its own personal insurance and equipment insurance. International visitors should arrange their own travel and medical insurance.
Equipment
Groups and individuals should bring their own camping and cooking equipment. All cooking should be done on gas stoves (open fires are not permitted). Bottled gas will be available to buy on site. Flush toilets are available throughout the site, but groups and individuals should bring their own washing facilities.
International
Scouts and Guides from other countries are encouraged to bring costumes, musical instruments and recipes or foods that reflect their culture and traditions. Unfortunately Poacher 2008 is not able to offer Home Hospitality to international groups. Click here for more international information.

Poacher 2008 is a fundraising event, and all profits from the event are passed back to Scouting and Guiding.
