Poacher is a full-activity camp where Scouts and Guides will be occupied most of the time. From water sports and adventurous activities, to crafts and conservation Poacher 2008 really does offer something for everyone!
Ticket and Passport System
Each activity has a set amount of places per sessions. Places are allocated through an Activity Passport and ticketing system. On arrival at Poacher, Group Leaders are given Activity Passports and a set amount of tickets. The Activity Passport contains the name and photograph of the Scout or Guide it belongs to. Scouts and Guides may swap tickets with each other, or collect extra tickets from the Activitie Tent if more places become available. To gain access to any activity the Activity Passport must be presented with the relevant ticket fixed in. A ticket is only valid if it is stuck into the Passport. Tickets will indicate a time and date and place for the activity or a time to catch an activity bus.

Transport for Offsite Activities and Trips
For all offsite activities and trips, the Scouts and Guides will be supervised by leaders who are camping at Poacher. Coaches will transport the Scouts and Guides to and from Lincolnshire Showground from the main bus stop. At the bus stop, Scouts and Guides will submit their activity passports to act as a record of all those who are offsite. Activity passports will be returned to the Scouts and Guides when they return to the showground.
As part of this, leaders who are camping at Poacher can volunteer to supervise the young people on the coach journeys. Leaders who to decide to volunteer may be able to participate in the activity or trip they are helping to supervise.
If your group is bringing a mini-bus, the Transport Team would welcome any offers of using mini-buses, either with or without a driver. Similarly, the Transport Team would like to hear from you if you have completed the Minibus Driver Training Course and would like to offer any time to drive Scouts and Guides to offsite activities and trips.
If you would like to volunteer or would like more information, please email transport@poacher.org.uk
